ELIO FARGO
The actors had distinct characteristics and motives. The point of view is not first person meaning it is projected as happening now. I really like the film because it is funny and suspenseful.
Fargo
Fargo is really well done. The shots are unique, especially those of the birds eye views. I loved the initial ones of Paul Bunyan.
The characters (even though these were real people) are incredibly well portrayed. I really loved the scene with Mike and Marge in the Raddison because the coloring was perfect and their acting was very natural and believable.
The Coen brothers have put a very unique and morbidly humorous twist on such a dark and true story.
Fargo
My first impression of the film Fargo are the many interesting ways they use different lighting to stir up certain emotions and set the scene. In the nighttime shooting scene, they use crisp dim light to create feelings of unease and a nervous type of thrill. They also used lighting to their advantage by utilizing the natural brightness and intensity of the snow covered setting to add high contrast and bring attention to specific elements in the movie.
Fargo
Fargo is very strange so far. The shot of the window during her kidnapping stands out to me because the dramatic pause as the kidnappers ponder whether she has jumped makes the scene increasingly interesting. Even the husband is confused until he decides that money is more important that his wife’s mental and physical state. Hopefully he grows as a character and realizes he is being stupid and selfish.
Fargo
Fargo, like other Coen Brothers’ films, is a dark comedy. However, Fargo seems to be somewhat darker than their other films, as it centers on a staged abduction and a string of murders. There are still comical elements though, such as the heavy accents of the characters, the ignorance of the man who pays to have his wife abducted, and the dysfunctional relationship between the two mis-matched kidnappers. The stylist nature of Coen Brothers’ films in evident in the interesting shots, often capturing mundane, daily elements in bizarre scenarios, or taking advantage of the tundra-esque landscape.
Taylor Z’s Fargo Opinion
So far I am really enjoying Fargo! I really love the bird’s eye view camera angles. I also really like the different attitudes of each character especially Steve Buscemi’s character because he is very funny. I like how the comedy is a little morbid but still funny.

Taylor 12 years a slave thoughts
I believe that the acting in 12 years A Slave was amazing. You felt the emotion between the slaves and the trust and sadness they all had for each other. Also all though the slave masters were horrible people in the movie there acting was still great. I think this movie was a great example of slavery.
