This was my first time watching this iconic movie.

The Shining is a huge masterpiece for a variety of reasons. The suspense within the film is incredible, and is only highlighted by the use of strings as an element of fright and shock. This is honestly one of the most visually pleasing films I have ever seen. I loved the coloring of the film and the subtle beauty of Shelley. The child actor was particularly talented as well. And don’t even get me started about Jack Nicholson he was SO GOOD. He’s incredibly talented. Stanley Kubrick is a master of suspense. He loves leaving audiences wanting more and curious about the intentions of his work. This is obvious particularly at the end, with the photo of Jack at the Overlook many years prior to the actual date of his residency. It has sparked countless conspiracy theories and has inspired filmmakers for decades to come.

Great work Stan.
