11:14

All of the events in this movie ultimately track back to the daughter, Cheri. She was the reason the drunk man was driving to her at night, which led to the “deer” accident. The boy that was dead in the graveyard was also her fault, which her father found and threw him off a bridge, back to the car accident. The convenient store shooting and robbery. Her own lie over the abortion money she needed from her two boyfriends for her fake baby eventually killed her. When she walked into the road to get the rest of her money to kill a baby in her (that was fake), a car kills her instead. Her lie caught up to her and not only killed one of her boyfriends but left one behing thinking he could’ve been a father, a woman with a shot arm, a teenage boy that is now dickless, scarred teenagers, depressed parents and two friends (drunk guy and friend on phone) in shambles. And all of this happened by 11:14 at night. Morals of the story, don’t have pre-marital sex, you’ll die. Don’t lie, you’ll die. Don’t pee out of a car window, you’ll be without genitals. Don’t steal from a store you work at, you’ll be arrested. Don’t drink and drive, you’ll get arrested again. Being a good friend is always appreciated.

12 years a slave- Conrad

12 years a slave was a very emotional movie. the main character has to overcome being abducted and taken down to the south after he was already a freeman.

11:14

11:14 was easily one of the most convoluted movies that I have ever seen, but the complexity of the plot was astounding. One of the most visually pleasing scenes was within the gas station because the coloring was astounding. The movie was very emotionally charged and I cringed in almost every single scene. It also had a very unexpected plot twist at the end- to thin that Cherie was actually behind every persons actions was somewhat humorous. I loved her numerous boyfriends, and the gruesomeness of each relationship/death only added to the hilarity.

This movie really made me think about finding more depth within plots and stories. The relationships of all the characters were very impressive. It was very similar to Crash, but  I liked this one better.

13 Years a Free Man

12 Years a Slave is an emotional story about a free “black” man who gets trapped and becomes a slave. He has to power through and bow down to the “white” man. He does this to survive. In the end he comes out on top and gets to meet his new grandson.

DONNIE DARKO

Donnie Darko is a defenitly a movie that makes you question the motives of the director. the ending is very unclear but there have been many different theories as to what really happened. The time travel scenario

Taylor Hawkins- 11:14

From mystery and gore to love and sadness, 11:14 expressed all the critical points necessary to create a successful film. As it was told in a flashback, the movie was immediately interesting and caused the audience to question everything up until the bitter end. I liked how everything was tied together even down to the girl asking to barrow her boyfriends jacket to get the keys. The detail min this film played a large roll and I took a lot of inspiration from it that I will put into the school film.

11:15

11:14 is about a big cycle that is unbreakable. Starting 10-15 minutes before 11:14 everyone has something to hide. But none of them know what to do about their situation. It is like the butterfly effect but it’s a loop. The filming show this. They seem to go back only a matter of minutes to tell a new story that coincides with the rest. This reveals new characters while keeping the same interconnected story.

11:14

I think 11:14 is a very good and well scripted movie.Although it was very confusing and hard t follow, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. The methodical placement of each scene is awesome to watch.

11:14

11:14 was a good movie. The way the story line was unfolded was a very interesting way to do it. It showed the future event and then went to the past then the present. And everyone in the movie was connected in a way so that made it very interesting to see.

Victoria Middleton- 11:14

11:14 was a captivating and unique, fast paced film. I really enjoyed the way the film was set up, with layer and layers that continued to get more and more complex as the film continued. I like how all of the different characters of the film were so interconnected, although the connections were hard to see at first. I also thought it was really brilliant how each consecutive section of the film started earlier than the section before it. I liked how the film seemed to be fixed on a time and place, an events, rather than any one particular character. In fact, the most central character, Cheri, was the last character to be introduced. I really enjoyed the plot and production of the film and thought it was interesting deviation from the usual linear approach taken by film makers.
